Meeting the Future at COP16
The room lights up as she takes the stage, her energy and positivity instantly captivating the audience. At just 8 years old, Kiara Kaur is no ordinary panelist. She is a force of nature—an extraordinary advocate for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and an inspirational author whose journey is reshaping the narrative of what young leaders can achieve.
Kiara’s rise to prominence began early, earning her a place in the record books at just 4 years old as the youngest nonstop book reader. Her insatiable curiosity and love for knowledge were only the beginning. By age 5, she became the youngest TEDx speaker, delivering a talk that not only showcased her intellect but also her unique ability to connect with audiences. At 7, Kiara took her mission global, addressing critical issues at COP28 and COY18, where her calls for urgent climate action and sustainable development resonated with leaders and changemakers worldwide.
Now, in 2024, Kiara has reached yet another milestone as the youngest speaker at the United Nations’ Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68). Her unwavering commitment to the SDGs and her extraordinary ability to inspire people of all ages have made her a beacon of hope and a powerful advocate for change.
After her panel, I had the privilege of speaking with Kiara about her vision for the future. As President of IASC, I extended a personal invitation for her to join the next World Changers Summit. It’s clear that Kiara’s journey is just beginning, and the world is eager to see where her passion and determination will lead her next.
