Executive vision

Humanity is entering an era in which artificial intelligence, quantum computing, robotics, digital infrastructures, autonomous systems, and emerging technologies increasingly shape the conditions of human life, governance, security, economics, and international relations.

While technological power has become global, legal protections, governance mechanisms, and institutional guarantees remain largely fragmented within national boundaries.

This growing asymmetry creates profound challenges for peace, human dignity, democratic governance, information integrity, cybersecurity, technological sovereignty, and the protection of fundamental rights, and the common house.

The Quantum Peace Architecture Initiative seeks to contribute to the development of ethical, legal, technological, and institutional frameworks capable of supporting peaceful cooperation and responsible governance and environmental and human flourishing in an increasingly interconnected world.

Inspired by the traditions of constitutional guarantees, international law, human rights, science diplomacy, and interdisciplinary cooperation, the initiative explores how emerging technologies can be governed as instruments of peace, human flourishing, and shared prosperity rather than conflict, domination, or exclusion.

The project builds upon the work developed by Prof. Alberto Contu and Prof. Gabriele Pao-Pei Andreoli in the volume World Federal Constitutionalism and Technologies of Power in the Quantum Age and aligns with the broader mission of IASC to foster cooperation among governments, universities, international organizations, industry leaders, faith-based institutions, and civil society.

Technology will shape the future. Governance will determine whether that future serves humanity.

Our mision

To advance interdisciplinary dialogue, research, education, policy development, and international cooperation aimed at promoting:
  •  Peace through constitutional and institutional guarantees.
  •  Ethical governance of emerging technologies.
  •  Human dignity and fundamental rights in the digital age.
  •  Responsible development of artificial intelligence and quantum technologies.
  •  Information integrity and algorithmic accountability.
  •  Technological sovereignty and cybersecurity.
  •  International cooperation through science diplomacy.
  •  Human flourishing as a guiding principle for innovation and governance.
03

Why this initiative matters

The world is experiencing a convergence of global challenges:
  • Geopolitical instability and conflict.
  • Climate and environmental pressures.
  •  Information warfare and disinformation.
  •  Cybersecurity threats.
  • Artificial intelligence governance challenges.
  • Quantum computing disruption.
  •  Concentration of technological power.
  •  Erosion of trust in institutions.
  •  Growing inequalities in access to knowledge and technology.
Traditional governance models are increasingly challenged by technologies capable of operating across borders and influencing societies at unprecedented scale. The initiative seeks to explore pathways through which law, ethics, technology, and institutions can evolve together to safeguard peace, liberty, accountability, and human dignity.
