Rowena Gates
Rowena Gates is a principal at Eng3 Corporation. She helped launch Eng3’s NanoVi technology
and currently oversees business development for its use in health, regeneration, and
performance.
Rowena Gates has promoted collaboration as a mechanism for business and regional economic
success for 35 years. During the era of hostile takeovers and leveraged buyouts she recognized
that strategic partnerships could outperform combative business tactics. This was confirmed by
her Ph.D. work at the University of Washington. Hers was the first dissertation published on
strategic alliances; it explored the use of international alliances as a tool for regional economic
development.
Rowena’s deep understanding of high-tech alliances served as a foundation for her business
career. She is a serial entrepreneur. Prior to joining Eng3, she spent six years as founder and CEO
of Aviarc Corporation, an internet-based solution provider for international trade. Before this,
she co-founded a document imaging company that merged into ImageSource. Back in 1995,
Rowena co-founded one of the earliest companies to offer an Internet-based solution to the
logistics industry.
Rowena has worked to build Eng3 since 2005. This was done in partnership with Hans Eng, the
German engineer who developed NanoVi technology. The NanoVi device, is based on a
patented approach that relies on water science and biophysics to improve cellular health and
reduce oxidative stress damage. The benefits of NanoVi have been verified by placebocontrolled university research. Eng3’s partnerships for research, sales, and marketing underlie
its success. While her collaborative approach remains, Rowena’s primary focus has shifted from
the economic wellbeing of regions to the health and wellness of individuals.
