Pamela S. Evette
Pamela S. Evette is the 93rd Lieutenant Governor of South Carolina.
Prior to her election as the first female Republican lieutenant governor of South Carolina, Evette founded Quality Business Solutions, Inc. (QBS), a payroll, human resources, and benefits services firm. Under her leadership, QBS grew from a start-up to one of the nation’s fastest growing small businesses.
Evette has received numerous accolades, including the ATHENA Leadership Award®. She has also been recognized for her efforts as a public servant on numerous issues including environmental, transportation, and humanitarian causes. In 2024, Evette was named a Christian Woman of Distinction by She Leads Carolinas, a She Leads Woman of Distinction by She Leads America, and received the Joseph H. Rainey Empowered Leadership Award.
As Lt. Governor, Evette has used her professional background to serve the people and businesses of South Carolina. She dedicates her time to highlighting S.C.’s thriving small business ecosystem and attracting new business to the Palmetto state. Evette is a staunch promoter of innovative public-private partnerships and works to bring greater awareness to S.C. non-profits and the impact they have in our local communities.
Beyond business, Evette has a passion for serving others — especially the most vulnerable in our society — which has guided her focus on early childhood education and reading. In 2019, she joined the sixth cohort of Hunt-Kean Leadership Fellows Program which focuses on state education policy.
Realizing every student has unique needs and goals, Evette is an advocate for school choice and promoter of S.C.’s world-class technical college system as pathways to educational and career success. In 2024, she launched her “Empowering Tomorrow’s Leaders” Initiative to get more young people working.
To highlight and protect S.C.’s natural resources, Evette created the Grab A Bag SC annual statewide litter clean-up initiative in partnership with PalmettoPride. She also joined the SC7 Expedition to raise awareness for floodwater prevention and continues to be involved in their efforts.
Evette serves on the boards of directors of the St Francis Foundation (affiliated with Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital) and the National Association of Professional Employer Organizations.
Evette is the granddaughter of Polish immigrants. Her parents, Jennie and Emil Gajoch, were first generation Americans who taught her the value of hard work and the importance of giving back. A devout Catholic, she and her husband David, attend Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Taylors. They have three children, Amanda, Joseph, and Jackson.
